The weekly format COMMENTARY provides a platform for experts in their field to speak briefly and succinctly on a topic and give reasons for their opinions. The aim is to present viewers with a range of voices, some of which are less heard, and to provide food for thought to illuminate and question the world from a different angle for once, and perhaps to do further research themselves and come to their own conclusions.
COMMENTARY wants to make an active contribution to freedom of the press. Expressed views therefore do not necessarily have to coincide with the opinion of the editorial team. The topics range from commentaries on current events to discussions about the human psyche. Often, the guests come from all over the world – from Scotland to India. Thus, this usually two-three minute format opens up a view beyond one’s own nose.
COMMENTARY appears every Tuesday at 6 p.m. on the German and English OVALmedia channels. Translations and publications in Italian, Spanish and French will follow.
